Look what our daughter did to Dottie
The funny thing is that Dottie goes along with it.
Some of you will know Dottie, on the left. But the little monkey on the right is also our daughter’s dog…this is Gertie, now 5months old.
Yes, they look alike, but not related to one another. Remarkable how they are so similar.
Dottie is so good with Gertie and looks out for her, treating her like her own.
DOTTIE: Mum said I couldn't take my duck with me.....
DOTTIE: I WIN
.....and let's face it,
who could argue with that adorable face.
Dottie has been on a little holiday and we got sent some pictures (thought I would share them with you).
Somehow Dottie manages to pull such weird faces AND she poses with that expression too. Untrained for this, just a natural nutter!
Note…..The video - Not me recording this or speaking, but Dottie’s mum.
A pleasant walk in the woods and an opportunity for Dottie to run off some energy, which she does!
Of course, pretending there is a squirrel up the tree gives Dottie the vocals…
(Click the picture below)….
Dottie is carrying on the tradition from William and Hamish, she just HAS to pose with the shades ;)
The funny thing is, she sat there like it was completely normal.
Some of you, I know, will have seen these sketches online, Instagram - Facebook - Twitter - but I am aware that some of you don't use those apps, so thought I would do a catch up here with the captions used...
Dottie
Another doodling sketch, this time in my sketchbook.
Barney
‘Grand-dog’ Barney, tried the “mind over matter” technique with the tennis ball and wondered why it didn’t move!
(I remember dear old William doing that from time to time)
HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE CATCH UP
***
Dottie is very good at posing for photos, as you will see….
l hope to get back to a more regular content here, best laid plans!
I’m enjoying sketching after a rest from it, but as you may know my inspiration stopped nearly a year ago with the loss of William (look back in this blog if you are new here).
We are lucky that our daughter has her little dog, Dottie, and our son/daughter-in-law, have Barney. Both dogs come to visit and stay with us from time to time, so my opportunity to sketch their antics is always available. Dottie visiting recently and in particular. I mean, the name alone is enough to give a clue!
This is from photo reference but Dottie tends to…be ‘Dottie’, with her Naughty Bottom pose, so I Sketched it…..a very quick, line sketch, nothing detailed…
However, here in Devon this last week it has definitely seen a freeze...

As you'll know, William used to Love shopping, especially at Pets-at-Home, so it is no surprise that Dottie also loves this shop!
Dottie has been staying with us for a few days and we thought it would be a Treat for her to go into town. So off we trundled and I managed to get a short video clip of her heading for the pet shop....
(click the clip below)...
and a couple of bags of biscuits were soon in the trolley.
The outing must have worn her out...
When you have a young pup visiting (now Dottie's a One year old), you have to keep her entertained. We think her most favourite place is the beach....I do wonder why (haha)...
click the pic below (sorry this is only a short blog today)...
Dottie LOVES the beach, so here's a compilation of clips from the walks. It does last over a minute, so you may want to skip some of it, otherwise ENJOY her fun.
....just click the image below...
Although I nearly gave up at one point. Saying some magic words like "Biscuits" and "Prezzies" worked,
plus me getting quicker at taking the photo.
So here we have it...
