A spot of snow

Occasionally in Winter we get some snow.  Not regularly every Winter, nor great mounds of snow when it does arrive (odd occasion perhaps but I'm talking generally here).  Could be because we are next to the sea, so the salt air stops it......fortunately, so far this Winter we have only seen a sprinkling of the white stuff.

This morning started dry and then we had a flurry of snow, the sort that is soft as it lands and indeed it melted away when the sun came out.

You can see from the picture below how light the snow was....HOWEVER, it was Cold (Freezing) Brrr!

William didn't anticipate an issue with his drinking bowl out on the balcony, but I immediately noticed a problem - can you tell what it was?!

Yep!  the water had FROZEN in the bowl.  Poor William couldn't make that out, he tried to take a drink, then realised and looked at me to resolve the matter.  Even Hamish kept a close eye on proceedings.

Normal service was soon resumed.

We hear that there could be another Freeze tonight,

perhaps it's time to bring the drinking bowl indoors for a while.

Thankfully William's tongue didn't stick to the frozen water. Best take the bowl indoors methinks.

I love the calm look of concern on Hamish's face. :)
thank goodness you helped bring things back to normal Mum!
we had Freezing Fog all of last night and much of the morning.
it resulted in a totally white thin layer of ICE on everything!
magical except for walking or driving. very very slick.

William's water bowl looks like our bird baths have looked a few times this winter in the north Georgia mountains! I have a heck of a time getting the ice out of the baths so I can put in fresh water for the birds.

We have snow, which Chester loves to eat, and very cold temperatures. I bet Hamish, and Barney too would love to play with that icy disc you've got there!

Robin....hopefully he realises how good we are ☺️... nah!...probably not 😉

Eileen....that occurred to me too! 🙂 ...although I tried bringing the bowl inside, but he STILL stood by the door waiting to go out onto the balcony, and the bowl was beside him at the time...Grrr! I still had to put the bowl outside!!! 😳

Tammy...I hate freezing fog, it's sooo dangerous. Do take care if you are out and about in it. 🙂

Sue....That does sound a very cold place you live in, but I bet it looks gorgeous 🙂

Chester....you would have so much fun with Hamish and Barney....and William, of course, but he's a bit slow these days 🙂

Sandy....Brrr! that is deep. Luckily ours is a dusting and it soon melted 🙂
