3D pen

So here's my first effort with my new 3D pen. Okay, I need to work on this, but can you guess who I drew! (and no, it won't be thrown into the ocean, I intend to keep all my 3D work, good or bad).

A look back

Not exactly sure how old William was in this photo,
but reckon he must have been around 2 years old!

Saturday 21 July 2018

We're okay, it's all safe on the beach...

YES, EVERY TIME THEY REINSTALL THE LIFEGUARD STATION FOR SUMMER,

WILLIAM HAS TO SIT UP THERE AND CHECK IT OUT

and here's the proof

Wednesday 18 July 2018

I think Hamish was trying to straighten the cushions...

although, perhaps he just wanted to rub the dry grass off his coat and onto the sofa!

William has his say...

Hey Look!

Hamish has new transport.

His mum bought a trailer for her bike

Don't worry,

Hamish will have a proper harness on to keep him safe when they actually go out on their adventures.

However, I couldn't allow him to have all the fun,

I got to try it too

I wasn't sure about it at first, but when I realised it was a dreaded BIKE pulling me along, I decided enough was enough and I got out!!!!    No more of that nonsense for me!

Saturday 14 July 2018

I have been reminded of a painting I did ages ago...

Did this with one load up of watercolour (Burnt Sienna), enough paint to complete an outline and drew this little chap.  No pencil outline.  Whilst the watercolour was still wet, I added a darker mix (Burnt Sienna + Burnt Umber) to define shading and detail.  Finally, and after the first wash was dry, I added the final details, eye/nose.  Job done

“Posing Hamish”

I love you lad

but sometimes your habits have much to be desired -

I think you can guess what 'treats' he found on our walk!!!

When a lad needs to scratch

You can tell that it is near on impossible to actually capture this action at the time -
William rubbing his back and rolling around happens too quickly.
Although I can remember some of the shapes and angles he makes,
it is much better for me to take photos/video and work from that.

First the quick sketch

I take out the unnecessary squiggles
and define the outline a bit more

A wash of watercolour in the background

and then...

Sunday 8 July 2018

Look what William found this morning...

Seems like some "Off Roading" has been going on.

Fire & Rescue aware tape was up, we hope the people were ok.
Perhaps they were trying to drive onto the beach, via the hedge!!!!
